Canada Day Bike Race and BBQ

Back for another year, this neighbourhood favourite will be this Wednesday, July 1st. In addition to the skilled cyclists racing around Lendrum, there will be a kids ride at noon and a BBQ courtesy of the Scouts. So come enjoy some races and support the Scouts by getting something to eat.

Some important notes:

The race has support from the Community League, City of Edmonton Event Planning Department, Edmonton Police Service, Public Transit and Edmonton Transportation Department.

Parking Restriction: We are asking residents on the course not to park on the street in front of their house. All vehicles on the course will be towed to the nearest open street. The vehicles may be tagged. Please help the race organizers by not parking on the race course on July 1.

Resident Alley Traffic Access: You WILL have vehicle access to your home via the alleyway. A marshal will allow you to pass when it is safe for you and the riders.

Barriers: There will be barricades up around the course to control the traffic. They will be at each access point to the course. Please donot drive around or through the barrier. Volunteers will help you to cross when it is safe. The cyclists will be in a pack and will be going fast, they will not be able to stop for you. It is very dangerous for both you and the racers to be on the course walking or driving.

Kids Ride: Come out for the kids ride and enjoy the day. Scheduled for Noon.

Event is Presented by: Juventus Cycling Club, Alberta Bicycle Association and Lendrum Community League.
