The Lendrum Crafters Group welcomes all residents and friends who enjoy doing handicrafts. We meet twice a month and share a potluck lunch at the hall. Bring a project to work on and/or completed projects to share.

Green Shack Show
The Edmonton Arts Council is partnering with City of Edmonton Green Shacks to host Green Shack Shows – free arts performances for children at Green Shacks across the city, five days a week in July and August (weather and air quality dependent). Performers include a diverse array of local artists in magic, music, dance, theatre and more.
Lendrum’s show on July 15 at 11 am features a Steel pan performance with Danielle George.
Kids Outdoor Volleyball
Your Lendrum community league board has set up an outdoor summer volleyball 7-session series for kids ages 10-13!
Number of sessions: 7 sessions, one session per week every Wednesday

Time: 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Location: Avalon Field #1 (the big soccer field close to 114 street, just North of Avalon)
Ages: For kids ages 10-13 years old
Activity: Volleyball! These sessions are geared towards our children who want to learn to play but have not been part of a league, though all are welcome.
Cost: Free
Optional donation: Please consider donating $75-100 per child as 100% will go to the Lendrum School Playground fund. Donations of any amount can be e-transferred to lendrumPAC@gmail.com. The donation is optional as we would like all kids to enjoy this experience regardless of finances. However if you are able to help contribute, it would be very helpful to get us closer to getting a new playground!
There are only 20 spots available so the first 20 kids will be accepted.

If you have unfinished projects languishing, bring them along and perhaps some help with the tricky bits or maybe just some enthusiasm and encouragement will help get things rolling again. If you just want to stitch with some friendly neighbours for a relaxing evening, this is for you!

The start time switches between 10:30am and 1:30pm - check website for details. Please join us to meet new people in the neighbourhood and to talk about any topics that may be of interest to our age group. Canada Day Bike Race
On July 1st, the Juventus Cycling Club and the Lendrum Community League host the Canada Day Criterium.
It is an Alberta Bicycle Association sanctioned bike race, for Amateur Provincial Racers, that takes place on the streets of Lendrum surrounding Lendrum Park.
For our Lendrum community, it's a time to enjoy Canada Day with our neighbours and to experience the excitement of a real bike racing environment.
There will also be a bike race for all the neighbourhood kids.
Road Closures: The roads around the Lendrum Athletic Park and on the race route will be closed to all traffic at this time. If you need to cross the course during the day, a volunteer will let you know when it is safe and assist you.

Soccer BBQ and Book Sale
The Soccer BBQ and Book Sale is coming up on Saturday, June 13 from noon until 4pm. We will have hot dogs, chips, watermelon, bouncy castles, glitter tattoos, fun games and soccer! Sewing Class for Kids
Community member Lisa Sharun is offering sewing lessons for kids at the Lendrum Community Hall.
Ten sessions between January 25-June 7, 7-8:30pm
January 25, February 8 and 22, March 8 and 29, April 12 and 26, May 10 and 24, and finally June 7. Each session will run approximately 1.5 hours, depending on the activities.
Each participant will require their own sewing machine, any colour of thread to start, and some bobbins that fit in their machine. Lisa will provide the materials that they will require for the first few sessions, then they will discuss things that may be needed depending on the projects they decide to do.
Any kids that would like to have their parents stay to help are more than welcome to do so. Lisa is also happy to take them parentless.
