This is your invitation to participate in a wide variety of activities in and around your own community. Whether you are trying something new, or sharing your skills with others, these programs are a fun way to get active while getting to know individuals in your local community. While some programs may require a community league membership and/or a participation or registration fee, others only require your enthusiastic participation.

The Lendrum Crafters Group welcomes all residents and friends who enjoy doing handicrafts. We meet twice a month and share a potluck lunch at the Lendrum Community Hall. Bring a project to work on and/or completed projects to share.

Drop-In Knitting & Crochet

The Lendrum Crafters Group is hosting drop-in evenings for knitters and crocheters.

All are welcome - all levels of crafters and all genders! We will have some supplies available to get complete beginners started on projects such as dish cloths, scarves, or squares for Blankets for Canada. This will be informal mentoring rather than a course of instruction. If you have unfinished projects languishing, bring them along and perhaps some help with the tricky bits or maybe just some enthusiasm and encouragement will help get things rolling again. If you just want to stitch with some friendly neighbours for a relaxing evening, this is for you!

Cost is a twoonie a time.

Family Futures Resource Network - Free Play (Drop-In)

Join us for interactive playtime with your child. This unstructured program is a great way to become involved in your child’s play. Build an increased sense of self, while also modeling social skills. Support your child through play!

Family Futures Resource Network - Music & Motion (Drop-In)

Children love dancing to songs and moving to rhythmic beats. Dance and movement provide opportunities to develop motor skills. Enjoy songs, parachute play and action games during this hour-long session.

Family Futures Resource Network - Rhymes That Bind (Drop-In)

Parents will learn songs, finger plays, and simple movement games with their child and discover new ways to bond in a supportive peer environment. Co-facilitated by the Centre for Family Literacy.

Girl Guides of Canada

We've been around for more than 100 years! Today’s Guiding is a safe, inclusive, all-girl environment that invites girls to challenge themselves, find their voice, meet new friends and make a difference in the world. Girl Guides has over 70,000 girls and young women Members, with leadership provided by more than 18,000 dedicated volunteers.

Go Diaper Free of Edmonton helps families reduce or eliminate their use of diapers by teaching and offering support for elimination communication and non-coercive potty training.

Our free group meeting is for anyone doing EC (infant pottying) or hoping to, or those looking for potty training support. Learn some new tricks, get answers to your pottying questions and meet a new community of local parents, all for free! Kids are always welcome.

Intergenerational Board Game Nights

Learn To Skate Programs

All ages, all abilities can learn to skate in January & February at this free, drop‐in program. Hosted daily in 9 different southwest neighbourhoods!

Petrolia Seniors

The original Petrolia Seniors’ group was organized by Southminster/Steinhaurer United Church in 1987 and met in the former St.Thomas Moore Catholic Church. As the numbers of attendees grew - sometimes to as many as 100 - the group needed a larger space. GCL offered our hall in 1995 and since then it has been "home" for Petrolia Seniors.
