Park Redevelopment News

SEPTEMBER 2016 UPDATE

Many thanks to all who volunteered and donated to summer fundraising events. The bottle drive, garage sale, book sale, Canada Day BBQ and Summer Campout together brought in almost $5,000 for the spray park project.

We have one more bottle drive for the spray park – Saturday, October 15. If you have a couple of hours to donate either that day or before delivering flyers please contact Julie at juliemoehler@gmail.com

The committee has narrowed down the choices for our new shade shelter and will soon be starting to pick spray features. Construction is slated to begin in Spring 2017 once the weather warms up and should be finished in time to have some play time in the summer.

The City has increased the project cost from $511,250 to $529,250.00. We will continue to apply for grants. Brick sales also continue. Brick sales continue and forms can be downloaded from the Donate & Support Page of the Lendrum website. All charitable donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt. To receive a tax receipt, please make your donation cheques payable to "The City of Edmonton" with "Lendrum CL Parkland Redevelopment" in the memo line. The City prepares tax receipts annually. Cheques can be dropped at 5807 113a Street along with the required Donation Form.

MAY 2016

Lots of exciting news and happenings on the spray project!

Recently we were successful in obtaining a Community Facility Enhancement Program Grant for $125,000.

Last weekend about 160 Lendrumites came out to St. John’s to visit with friends and neighbours, support the project and bid on lots of great items and services from our amazing donors.

Many thanks to all who came out and who donated including Geoff Scott who donated his 50/50 winnings.

The evening brought in more than $8000 for the spray park meaning the project is now 98% funded and leaving just over $10,000 remaining to be fundraised by year end.

Brick sales continue and forms can be downloaded from the
Donate & Support Page of the Lendrum website.

Volunteers are needed this summer for our other fundraising events. If you have an hour or two to give please email Allison at playground@lendrum.org
